On May 8, I will be hosting a special screening of the classic lesbian film Desert Hearts at 6:30 PM at the Stonewall National Museum, Archives, & Library in Fort Lauderdale. Presented in collaboration with OUTSFL, this Thursday Movie Night event celebrates Donna Deitch’s 1985 romantic drama, which tells the story of Vivian Bell and Cay Rivers—two women who fall in love against the odds in 1959 Nevada. Known for its groundbreaking portrayal of lesbian romance, Desert Hearts remains a cultural touchstone. For more information, visit stonewall-museum.org.
