TransSOCIAL Celebrates Trans Flag Day, August 19

On August 19, communities across the nation will celebrate Transgender Flag Day, honoring the anniversary of the first time the Transgender Pride Flag was flown at a Pride event in 2000. The flag, created by transgender activist Monica Helms, will be recognized for its powerful symbolism of visibility, pride, and the ongoing fight for recognition in public spaces.

The observance will take place in various cities, with organizations such as TransSOCIAL leading awareness campaigns, educational events, and community gatherings. Supporters will raise the flag in public spaces, share its history, and advocate for transgender rights. Participants will be encouraged to learn more about the flag’s legacy and join the movement for trans visibility.

TransSOCIAL advocates for Trans visibility and unity within the TLGBQ+ community. It is currently serving the community in Florida and Georgia. More information is available at transsocial.org.
