Saturday Night Live has officially welcomed queer ice hockey romance Heated Rivalry into pop-culture infamy, parodying it with a raunchy Harry Potter sketch that’s dividing LGBTQ+ viewers. On Saturday’s episode, guest host Finn Wolfhard starred in “Heated Wizardry,” a mash-up that reimagines Harry Potter through the horny lens of Heated Rivalry. A voiceover announces The only thing hotter than ice hockey is Quidditch, before Harry teases, Catch me if you can, Weasley, during a broomstick chase.
The sketch leans hard into innuendo, from wand jokes to late-night texts asking a friend to “Slytherin to my bum.” You will also catch Jason Momoa’s Hagrid saying, “You’re a homo, Harry.” Just to be clear, Hogwarts is like college now. Online, reactions are mixed. While the video pulled 1.9 million YouTube views in just over a day, some fans objected to linking Heated Rivalry with a JK Rowling property. Others had a simpler gripe: why Ron, not Draco? What do you think?
