Nicki Minaj is facing widespread backlash after making a transphobic allegation about model Chrissy Teigen, following the Grammys on Sunday, February 1. The controversy began after host Trevor Noah joked about Minaj’s absence, quipping that “she is still at the White House with Donald Trump discussing very important issues.” The remark referenced Minaj’s public support for President Donald Trump, calling herself the President’s number one fan.

After Teigen was shown laughing at the joke, Minaj wrote on Twitter, “Everyone knows Chrissy Tiegan has/had a d***. Allegedly,” alongside an image of Chucky holding a martini. Social media users quickly condemned the post. One person wrote, “Ranting and raving and being transphobic when you support a trifling president is CRAZY,” sharing a clip of Sabrina Carpenter rolling her eyes. Another added, “Your husband is a sex offender. Not allegedly,” referencing Kenneth Petty.

Minaj also attacked Noah, claiming he was allegedly in the closet. Critics say the repeated use of allegedly underscores how baseless the claims are. The rapper’s rightward turn intensified in November and continued with appearances at Turning Point USA, clashes with RuPaul’s Drag Race star Heidi N Closet, and condemnation from Pride UK, which stated, “she is not our friend.”
