Unchosen follows Rosie, played by Molly Windsor, as she escapes an abusive marriage to Adam, portrayed by Asa Butterfield, within a strict religious sect. The plot centers on Rosie’s connection with outsider Sam, played by out actor Fra Fee, but there is more to the story. The aries later reveals that Adam is hiding the fact that he is gay—something that would lead to excommunication. Sam manipulates this secret, coercing Adam and later blackmailing him with recorded evidence. The storyline exposes themes of repression, power, and control within religious systems.
