We caught up with SAMMY founder and creative director Clark Samuel to discuss the biggest swimwear trends for Summer 2026, the growing embrace of revealing cuts, and why confidence remains the ultimate accessory.

What are the biggest men’s swimwear trends you’re seeing this summer?

Clark Samuel: Men’s swimwear in 2026 is getting more revealing, but less loud. We’re seeing refined patterns instead of flashy prints. Our Striped Brazilian Brief and Striped G-String are leading the way, along with rich earth tones like Mahogany and Sage. The cuts are sexier than they’ve ever been.

What have been the best-selling pieces from the 2026 collection?

The Brazilian Swim Briefs, G-Strings, and the Shrunken Tees and Tanks.

Why do you think men are gravitating toward these styles?

They’re cuts you can’t find anywhere else. They’re light and breezy, but still durable. They lift, define, and reveal just the right amount. Fitness culture is bigger than ever right now, and guys want to show off the work they’ve put in.

Do you think every guy should own a swim brief?

Definitely. It’s time to skip those awkward board-short tan lines. We make six different cuts, from square cut to G-string, so guys easing into more revealing swimwear can start with more coverage and work their way down. And our Shrunken Muscle Tank is the perfect topper for a pool day or beach hang. It’s light, breezy, slightly cropped, and adds a little extra spice.

How have Miami culture, nightlife, and beach life influenced the new line?

South Florida has always had a sense of freedom when it comes to the body, and SAMMY is built for that. Our Summer ’26 collection taps into the hotel culture of Miami Beach — that Members Only kind of vibe you find at places like Soho House Miami, The Standard Spa, Miami Beach, and Faena Hotel Miami Beach. These properties all have a distinct point of view and palette that feel connected to the environment. Our colors come from that world — Red Flame, Cheetah, Mahogany, Sage. Hot, but tasteful and considered. The cuts are engineered to enhance the male physique and designed to show off a little in all the right ways.

Who is the SAMMY man?

He’s a guy who pays attention to the details and wants to push the sexiness of his wardrobe just a little further. He wants more versatility, more ease, and more options.  I design for the guy whose confidence comes from within. The clothes are the cherry on top. He wears them — they don’t wear him. I design for a versatile lifestyle with solid colors, classic prints, and pieces that mix and match across any occasion. They’re light, easy to pack, and easy to live in.
