Don’t let the name fool you. Heyday Miami might have you thinking this quaint posh lounge is in Miami, but the LGBTQ+ gem is in Hollywood, Florida.

If you haven’t been yet it’s worth the visit – you can take my word for it. Heyday Miami in Downtown Hollywood is an adorable lounge space on the corner of Harrison Street and South 20th Avenue. The queer space is perfect for a date night or an intimate group outing because there’s always something entertaining going on.

Open from Thursday to Sunday, there are salsa nights with a live band and, at times, an alluring salsa dancer, El Kiri, that entertains patrons with his sultry smooth moves and engaging deposition. In no time you can find yourself up on your feet dancing beside him with your friends or date lock step in toe. But that’s not the only entertainment on the menu at Heyday.

On any given night you can be serenaded by a guitarist or cellist, or laugh out loud during their comedy nights. Heyday makes sure to have a diverse lineup of entertainment throughout the month. And the entertainment doesn’t stop there; Heyday explores the element of showmanship through their drink menu as well. Their drinks are a unique experience like no other.

Ripped from their website, “Heyday Miami is [Hollywood’s] first dedicated low-ABV cocktail bar, built around vermouths, aperitifs, sake, amari, and fortified wines. Our cocktails are intentionally crafted for balance and depth – designed for long evenings, real conversation, and energy that lasts.”

There’s nothing like ordering an espresso martini that has the taste of an alcohol-based beverage but was intentionally crafted with fortified wine that pairs well with the accents of espresso. Each low-ABV cocktail on Heyday’s menu was carefully crafted to envelope the senses in a familiarity of a traditional cocktail while subtly titillating the tastebuds with something delightfully new.

It’s a beverage selection that pairs well with their aperitivo-driven menu of curated cuisine. There are no heavy meals incorporated into their menu. It’s a light bites style dining experience. Just enough to satisfy your appetite while you enjoy the innovatively curated cocktails, live entertainment, charming ambiance and lovely company of your friends or date.

All-in-all Heyday Miami is an enchanting hideaway in the heart of Downtown Hollywood, where not many queer establishments exist. For that alone, it’s worth a visit. Make the short trip, you won’t be disappointed.
