What’s hot around town, what to do, where to go and the hottest toys and gifts!
On Sunday March 29th after we came back from 2 successful days at West Palm Beach Pride we headed to Sea Monster for their T dance which that night was a benefit for the Police Benevolent Association and featured many great prizes. The event raised thousands of dollars for a great cause. Afterwards we went over to Bill’s for their benefit for Noel Leon, the current reigning Miss Florida Continental Plus, to send her to Miss Continental Plus in Chicago. As usual Trannie Palace was hopping and lots of money was raised for one of South Florida’s finest. Georgie’s Alibi wrapped up 12 days of celebrations last Friday night with the awarding of 12 major prizes including the grand prize of an electric scooter. The winner was Domingo L. Fernandez who was so excited; he dropped what he was doing and literally ran a few blocks to claim his prize! Congratulations to all of the staff and management for a job well done, especially to Alonso Madrigal and Jim Dionusius who received their 5 year service rings last Thursday evening. The 4th annual Gay Rodeo (Sunshine Stampede) was once again a huge success due to the hard working efforts of the FGRA. We enjoyed two days of rodeo mayhem, special thanks to the sponsors like Rosie’s and Scandals and organizers who did a superb job, we can hardly wait for next year’s event! Speaking of the Rodeo; Scandals was packed all weekend long. All 3 nights Kmart’s parking lot was full and they weren’t even ope… YEEHAW!!!
The annual Chili Cook off at Smarty Pants was once again packed with 9 Chili’s to be judged on texture, aroma, taste and appearance. In the end third place went to Shawniebob, second place to Dwayne and the winner of the 2009 Chili Cook-off was Wayne.

This Is Hot

Jason Walker has been a constant presence in dance music since the release of his breakthrough hit, “My Life” in the summer of 2004. Under the wing of the legend Junior Vasquez and his JVM label, Walker managed to rack up 5 Top 10 Billboard Dance singles from his debut JVM release “This Is My Life” which included two #1’s for “Foolish Mind Games” and “Set It Free”, a #3 for debut single “My Life”, a #5 for “No More” which was penned by heavenly Kristine W, and a #7 for “Movin’ On” a collaboration with Dynamix.

The success of “This Is My Life” garnered Walker a 2007 IDMA nomination for Best Breakthrough Dance Artist Solo and made possible the release of Walker’s sophmore album, “Flexible” in December of 2007. The first single, the Farley/Vasquez produced, David Cole penned, “I Can’t Get You Off My Mind” created quite the buzz, and the video, directed by Karl Giant (Ultra Nate, Cydni Lauper, The One’s) , reached #1 five seperate times and remained in the Top 5 for six months on MTV’s subsidiary channel, LOGO. 2008 has proved fruitful for Walker as he has already been awarded DivaDivo Dance and Just Circuit Awards, and his latest single is “Can’t Stop” , a collaboration with house music’s golden boy, Quentin Harris. Recently released on Strictly Rhythm/Defected Records, “Can’t Stop” has already topped numerous download sites and can be found in the Top 10 of taste-making DJ’s around the world. Aside from filming the new video for “Can’t Stop” with Quentin, Jason has ongoing projects with Bad Boy Bill, John Kano aka Havanafunk, and Mike Cruz, just to name a few.
