Where has all the time gone so very fast? It seems like just yesterday when Steve Donahue told us about coming to Ybor! It was the opening of a new gay bar, G. Bar! Then it was a short 6 months later we followed to Ybor City! Believe it or not, just 2 months after we opened GaYBOR District Coalition started! The night before at Steam Fridays the guys hosted Kim Zolciak from the Bravo TV hit show, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” Kim performed her smash hit “Tardy for the Party!” Just in time for the 3rd year anniversary party, G.BAR has installed a new dance floor and huge VJ booth and stage for resident VJ Greg Andersen. All we can say is WOW! Congratulations & a huge thank you to Florida Entertainment Group (G. BAR, Honey Pot, Ybor Social, Gallery Live & Ybor Eagle).

The champagne was flowing while being surrounded by good friends and music! It was PARTY time for Mike. Streetcar Charlie’s was the backdrop for the event. Judy G Goode & Paul Thomas performed their hearts out for Mike and guests.

This Year The Hampton Inn & Suites Ybor will be an official drop off point for food donations benefitting Metropolitan Charities. We all know how fantastic the Hampton Inn is in donating items for us all the time. Now is our chance to donate back to them! Simply bring your canned items to the lobby and drop them off in the bin. On Thursday, November 26th the Sawmill Campgrounds will present their 11th annual Thanksgiving feast.

On Friday, November 27th Steam Fridays at the Honeypot presents the CD release party for Angie Stone’s “Unexpected,” which features the hit single “I Ain’t Hearin U.”
On Saturday, November 28th G Bar presents the CD release party for Shakira’s “She Wolf.”

Friends of the Festival is accepting resumes for the position of Development-Executive Director, following Chuck Henson’s recent resignation from the position.   Henson has accepted a new position as Traffic Reporter for Bright House Networks’ Bay News 9.   Henson will continue to serve in his role with Friends of the Festival until the end of the year. This week Mark got a sneak pre view of the new Hamburger Mary’s opening soon in the heart of GaYBOR! Two words describe Mary’s: FABOULOUSLY GAY! The Piano’s in Ybor have been providing many surprises.

From Tampa Theatre’s musicians, walk-up street performers, the mailman, a tourist group visiting from Japan, to a famous local porn star we all know, are pushing the ivory keys! Three GaYBOR committees are busy working on future holiday events: The Holiday Decorating Contest, The Holiday Bar Crawl and spring time’s Southern Exposure!
