“Ringer”
Premieres September 13 on The CW
Our beloved Sarah Michelle Gellar (“Buffy The Vampire Slayer”) is back with CW’s “The Ringer.” In it, she plays twins sisters Bridget and Siobhan, who have always had a complicated relationship. Bridget, a recovering alcoholic, is on the run from the mob after witnessing a murder. She goes to her sister’s home to hide out and as the sisters work on repairing their relationship, trouble hits and Siobhan goes missing. Bridget takes on her identity and soon starts learning some interesting, surprising things about the sister she thought was so boring.
“The Secret Circle”
Premieres September 15 on The CW
If you are into the supernatural, you will enjoy The CW’s The “Secret Circle.” The series follows teen Cassie (played by Britt Robertson of “Life Unexpected” and “Scream 4”), who moves to New Salem and finds out that all of her fellow students at her new school are witches. This show features Thomas Dekker “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” and “Kaboom”) and Gale Harold (Brian on “Queer as Folk”), so you know it’s going to be hot.
“XFactor”
Premieres September 21 on Fox
Do we really need another singing competition show? The answer to that question is “Yes, please” – especially if it’s Simon Cowell’s long awaited “X Factor.” Judges L.A. Reid, Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger, and of course, Cowell will keep things lively. The show is different than the other shows in its genre, as it’s open to all ages, solo artists and groups and the judges act as mentors. Seeing Paula and Simon interacting again is reason enough to check out this show!
“Charlie’s Angels”
Premieres September 22 on ABC
The newest version of Charlies’s Angels honors the original by premiering on the 35th anniversary of it’s debut. Annie Ilonzeh (“General Hospital”) stars as Kate Prince, a former Miami cop; Minka Kelly (“Friday Night Lights”) plays Eve French, a street racer; and Rachael Taylor (“Transformers”) is Abigail “Abby” Sampson, a thief. Cutie Ramón Rodríguez (“The Wire” and “The Taking of Pelham 123”) stars as John Bosley. Drew Barrymore continues her love of all things Charlie by executive producing this new version.
“A Gifted Man”
Premieres September 23 on CBS
This drama stars the incredibly easy-on-the eyes Patrick Wilson (of “Angels in America,” “Watchmen” and “Insidious”) as Michael Holt, a materialistic doctor. Holt learns the meaning of life through visions of his deceased ex-wife, Anna, played by actress Jennifer Ehle (of “The King’s Speech” and “The Adjustment Bureau.”) The show also stars Julie Benz (of “Dexter”). Jonathan Demme is an executive producer on the show and also directs a few episodes.
“Pan Am”
Premieres September 25 on ABC
If you long for the fashion of the 1960s, then you will find the new show Pan Am especially visually stimulating. Starring the amazing Christina Ricci (“The Opposite of Sex,” “Sleepy Hollow”) and the adorable Mike Vogel (“Cloverfield,” “Poseidon,” “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants”). The show follows the lives of pilots and flight attendants who worked at the glamorous Pan Am.
“Once Upon A Time”
Premieres October 23 on ABC
This new show is loosely based on popular fairytales, but presented with a modern twist. It stars Ginnifer Goodwin (“Big Love,” “Something Borrowed”) as Prince Charming and Jennifer Morrison “House” as Emma Swan. The fairytale characters don’t know their true identities and live like normal everyday people.
“Are You There, Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea”
Premieres Mid-Season on NBC
Based on Chelsea Handler’s 2008 book of the same name, the show stars Laura Prepon (Donna from “That ’70s Show”) as Chelsea Newman. It follows the lives of Chelsea and friends in L.A. and is based on Handler’s life in her 20s. Handler herself appears on the show as Chelsea’s pregnant older sister Sloane.
