Brad Loekle was a guest co-host on SiriusXM Radio’s Morning Jolt, he was a writer for the late Joan Rivers on Fashion Police, and he can currently be seen weekly on TruTV’s original series World’s Dumbest, on which he has been featured for seven seasons. In addition, he has made guest appearances on many networks, and if you have been on an Atlantis or RSVP cruise in the last few years, you have seen him perform and you know how crazy he truly is. Either way, you can catch him live at Le Boy this Friday and Saturday, February 6 and 7 at 11 p.m. with no cover!
I got a chance to interview Brad at Rosie’s last Sunday for brunch and he was only on his third cocktail.
At what age was your first performance and when did you know performing would be your career?
Technically I first performed as a toddler when I walked next door to the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) and stripped naked and straddled a cannon. By my fifth year of being a waiter in NYC, I knew entertaining was going to be my career or some elderly Jewish woman was going to die!
What has been your favorite gig so far?
Anytime I get to be in Fort Lauderdale and it’s not me pandering, so I get to go to all the dirty bars and have fun!
How did you get involved with RSVP? Tell me about the experience so far.
I had already been working at their sister company, Atlantis, as a stand-up comedian and I filled in last minute for their cruise director whose father had died suddenly. Rich Campbell (owner of Atlantis and RSVP) was having a hard time finding a permanent cruise director for RSVP and after my impromptu fill-in, he asked me if I would be the permanent cruise director on RSVP and I was happy to say yes. The experience over the last few years has been amazing!
Describe Brad in three words.
Rude, crude and lewd!
What can we expect from your performance at Le Boy?
To get in trouble at work the following week for all the jokes you repeat.
What’s ahead for Brad?
You will see me competing in Last Comic Standing which premieres in May, and you can also catch me on every Atlantis and RSVP cruise in 2015, and of course back in Fort Lauderdale soon!
