Saturday, August 29

On Saturday, August 29, Macy’s department stores nationwide will be participating in the tenth annual Shop for a Cause event, which allows shoppers to donate to their favorite non-profit organizations and charities, and in exchange, they can come to participating Macy’s stores and shop at discounted prices all day.Macys-shop_copy

Here’s how Shop for a Cause works. Non-profit community service organizations that have applied to be a part of this event receive savings passes from Macy’s, which they can sell to their members or supporters at the cost of $5. The non-profits get to keep 100% of the proceeds from the sale of these savings passes.

Then, on August 29, people who have purchased these passes go to the specific Macy’s location where the non-profit signed up. Shoppers show their passes when they check out, and they can receive 30% off regular, sale and clearance merchandise, and 25% off many designer brands. There is also a 10% discount on electronics, furniture, mattresses and area rugs with the savings pass. With the pass, shoppers are automatically entered to win a $500 gift card, and no purchase is needed to win.

Macy’s locations all across Florida are participating in Shop for a Cause. Let me tell you which charities and non-profit organizations will be participating and where you can go on your shopping spree.
