Presented by PNC Bank, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce features a Business & Community Expo in Fort Lauderdale with a focus on the LGBT community. The event takes place on Saturday, November 11 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Westin Fort Lauderdale (400 Corporate Drive…NOT the beach location). This expo also features free admission, free parking and exclusive expo-only discounts.
They invite you to meet and mingle with representatives from their business members and community partners. They are also offering free seminars throughout the day, and complimentary health screenings (cholesterol, glucose, vitals and BMI) provided by Broward Health Imperial Point Hospital.
I sat down with Keith Blackburn to ask him a few questions.
What made the GFLGLCC decide to produce a Business Expo?
Our goal is to promote our member businesses, along with the important work our nonprofit Community Partners do.
What are some of the major vendors at the Expo?
As you know, this event is presented by our chamber partners at PNC Bank, who will be there. Broward Health Imperial Point Hospital will be offering complimentary health screenings.
Other vendors include hotels, legal, real estate related, along with financial planning and more. We are expanding the vendor list daily, so expect more as we approach event day.
Tell me more about the Seminars?
Seminars will be offered with subjects on Financial Planning, Marketing and Promoting your Small Business to the LGBT Community, Long Term Care and more.
Now that the date is close, what do you hope the community gets out of this expo?
An opportunity to learn some helpful information, both personally and professionally. Some of our Community Partners will be on hand to educate the community on what they do.
We’ll also have a food drive to support Poverello. We encourage everyone to bring much needed canned goods to the event.
