The first weekend in October, the City of Oakland Park will host its 15th Annual Oktoberfest celebration presented by Funky Buddha Brewery. Oakland Park Oktoberfest takes place at Jaco Pastorius Park 4000 N. Dixie Highway. Hours of the weekend celebration are Friday, October 4th, 6pm to 11pm, Saturday, October 5th 1pm to 11pm and Sunday, October 6th 1pm to 7pm

The 14th Annual Central Bark Dachshund Dash will take place on Saturday, October 5th at 4pm in Center Park. Pre-register by going to: Centralbarkfortlauderdale.com/dachshund-dash/.

In addition to the Dachshund Dash, Central Bark will sponsor the 2nd Annual Doggie Fashion Show (for dogs under 30 pounds) at 4PM on Sunday. Categories include Doggie Diva (most fashionable), Twinning (owner & dog dress alike), and Oktoberfest Dog (best Oktoberfest themed costume). Oktoberfest entertainment headliners include the San Antonio-based Alpine Express, Master jodler, zither and accordion virtuoso Sepp Diepolder, as well as traditional Schuhplattler dancers.

Oktoberfest Kids’ Corner will offer face painting, flower crown making, cookie decorating and other arts and crafts activities, in addition to a traditional carnival area with rides and games

Adult Oktoberfest activities include the beer barrel roll, beer stein races, and apple strudel eating contests. Guests can also stop by the seminar tent for “Beer 101” and “Beer and Cheese Pairings”, seminars hosted by Funky Buddha.

Oakland Park Oktoberfest Shoppers’ Market is open for business showcasing local artists, crafters and culinary artisans.

General admission to Oakland Park’s Oktoberfest is $5, children 12 and under are admitted free with an adult. Premium parking will be available in the immediate vicinity of the park and free parking nearby with complimentary shuttle service. The ride-sharing drop off and pick up location is at the corner of NE 12th Avenue and NE 37th Street.
