Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF) Drive-In Cinema 

And Option to help Humane Society of Broward County 

Looking for something to do with the kids?  Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF) will feature family movies weekly with FLIFF Kids Drive-In Cinema.  The films, selected with younger children in mind, and the next film will be HAPPY FEET on Sunday, July 26. This screening will offer an option to help the Humane Society of Broward County.  FLIFF Drive-In Cinema will continue each Friday night with more adult fare.  

Both FLIFF Drive-In Cinema and FLIFF Kids Drive-In Cinema will be held at Pier Sixty-Six Marina South at 2150 SE 17 Street in Fort Lauderdale (on the SE corner of the 17th Bridge). Gates open 7pm. All cars must be in position by 8:15pm. Movies begin at 8:30pm. Food trucks are available on site. 

The drive-in cinemas are hosted by Pier Sixty-Six Hotel & Marina, produced by Fort Lauderdale Int’l Film Festival and Twilight Features, co-sponsored by Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale, CVB’s Office of Film, Music Fashion & Create, and the Broward County Cultural Division.

Admission per carload is $30 General Admission, $20 Pier Sixty-Six Hotel & Marina neighbors, and $15 FLIFF Members.  The $40 admission provides a $10 donation to the Humane Society of Broward County or you can separately add $5.00, one or more times, to any admission price.  Humane Society of Broward County advocates for and improves the lives of animals by providing adoptions, community services, and education.

Friday, July 24 GREASE Sing-A-Long – Sing-a-long with the highest grossing live-action musical of all time, GREASE. In the cult-classic fresh-faced Sandy (Olivia Newton John) and bad boy Danny (John Travolta) find summer love at the beach. But when school begins and they discover they’re both at Rydell High, will they be able to keep their romance alive?  The rockin’ all-star supporting cast include: Stockard Channing, Jeff Conaway, Didi Conn, Frankie Avalon and many more.  Rated PG.

Sunday, July 26 HAPPY FEET  – Into the world of the Emperor Penguins, who find their soul mates through song, a penguin is born who cannot sing. But he can tap dance something fierce!  HAPPY FEET, features the voices of Robin Williams, Elijah Wood, Brittany Murphy, Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman and more. Rated PG.

Friday, July 31 HAIRSPRAY Sing-Along – This sing-along version of HAIRSPRAY, based on John Waters’ 1988 cult classic,  takes place in 1960s Baltimore, dance-loving teen Tracy Turnblad (Nikki Blonsky) auditions for a spot on “The Corny Collins Show” and wins. She becomes an overnight celebrity, a trendsetter in dance, fun and fashion. Perhaps her new status as a teen sensation is enough to topple Corny’s reigning dance queen and bring racial integration to the show.  The all-star cast includes: John Travolta, Michelle Pfeiffer, Queen Latifah, Christopher Walken, James Marsden, among others. Rated PG.
