There are so many businesses related to Pets in the South Florida area, whether they be Animal Hospitals, Boutiques, Kennels, Doggie Day Cares, etc. I will list many of them below but will start by talking about the newest one that is set to open this Spring in Wilton Manors: Wag Pride.

In the over two decades that Mark Winner and Lee Ginsberg have been together, they’ve had their fair share of pets. As avid animal lovers, it was no surprise to them two years ago, when their dog Charlie tested positive for a bacterial infection. They wanted to do everything they could do to make sure he was okay. That included bringing him to an animal hospital at the University of Florida and ultimately feeding him prescription diet food and supplements.

It is that idea of wanting to do anything for your pet that prompted the couple to start Wag Pride, a neighborhood pet experience built exclusively with Wilton Manors in mind. Located at 2031 Wilton Drive, the boutique will provide a place that has all the things needed to spoil your pack as pet parents. It will include a fully automated self-serve dog wash, the first of its kind in the city, as well as pet foods, treats and dog accessories.

The couple plan to have two full-time pet groomers on staff as well. “We want to do what we can to help other people with their dogs now and moving forward,” Winner said. “We’ll do anything we can for our dogs, and we know other people are the same way.”

All of the products used and sold in the store will be produced in a way that is environmentally friendly and is good for people’s pets.

They also plan to have a “bakery” in the store with locally made pet treats for sale.

The couple, who live in Wilton Manors, said they thought bringing this kind of business to the island city was a no brainer. “We see ourselves here. We see our stamp being local. We live here and we’re invested in this community,” he said.

While they will have a brick-and-mortar store, which will open this spring, they plan to have a strong online presence. Additionally, as they grow, they have high hopes of franchising and opening more locations.
