Lil Nas X Thanks “Gay Agenda” For Video of the Year 2021 VMAS Win.Yesterday, the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards had its share of queer moments, from Troye Sivan talking about returning to the stage post-lockdowns to Lance Bass talking about being in a boyband and his past VMA experiences. One person stole the show over and over throughout the night, and that’s Lil Nas X. From his Versace runway look to his bedazzled boxer briefs, he continued to show off his fashion sense. His performance of “Industry Baby” with Jack Harlow was full of energy (and scantily-clad prison mates). He also hit it big in the awards department, with his controversial “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” video winning Best Direction and Best Visuals. The gay highlight of the night was when Lil Nas X also won “Best Video” for Montero. In his acceptance speech he said, “Oh my god! Ok first, I want to say thank you to the gay agenda. Let’s go gay agenda!”
