They are having their Grand Opening party on Wednesday Nov. 30th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, and will have light bites, open bar, and live entertainment by Black Tie Optional Show featuring Kerst Lehmann (sings like Frank Sinatra…google him as he is super talented). The event is being co-hosted by the Wilton Manors Business Association and is a benefit for Sunserve. WMBA has set up an Eventbrite listing to collect suggested donations for the event and will also be collecting donations at the entry. 100% of the proceeds are going to benefit Sunserve.
A couple weeks before the grand opening I sat down with owners David, Ken and Tom for this Exclusive Hotspots interview:
How did the idea come about?
We always wanted and dreamed about having a hospitality property in Wilton Manors/Fort Lauderdale as we have lived here for a long time. We had been looking for a while but wanted to wait for the perfect place. When we sold our hotels (Brass Key and Crowne Pointe) after owning and operating them in P Town for the last 25 years, we started looking seriously down here. As soon as we saw this property, we knew it was the one. We felt the property really lends itself well to what today’s travelers are looking for in vacation accommodations – spacious suites with fully equipped kitchens and technology driven experiences like contactless check ins, fast WiFi, and smart TVs.
How long did it take to complete?
Not very long, as we closed on the property in January of this year, and we immediately started renovations and we slowly brought units online as we finished them. Now the property is fully done and all the Suites are available to rent.
Did it come out as good as you anticipated?
Actually, it came out better than we planned. We had an idea of the “look” we wanted and worked with a local designer, David Bowles of Elite Home Staging, to do all the interior decor of the suites to bring that vision to life.
Why should guests choose Wilton River Suites over other accommodations?
We think our suites offer great value with their square footage. The fully furnished apartments feel like home including a fully functioning kitchen, huge closets, central A/C, and resort quality amenities. We are on the edge of everything, where you can walk to the drive, but it’s just far enough away that it’s quiet if you want to get away. In addition, we are an all-welcome property.
What are some of the resort quality amenities you speak of?
We have a gym, a beautiful infinity pool with plenty of lounge chairs, a BBQ, a picnic area right on the dock, a floating dock which allows easy access to the Middle River (Sunrise Paddle Board will deliver), and gigantic closets (Scott’s Note: Unbelievable closets, which I would love in my bedroom…LOL).
