When Megachurch pastor Joel Osteen’s son Jonathan preached about the love of God and how he uplifts everyone, a duo of Evangelical pastors reacted. The first preacher complains that conversations like that are the “one of the banes of our preaching today.” He feels that if people think God loves them unconditionally, they won’t feel the need to repent their sins and convert to Christianity. The second preacher mentions that the Bible states that God is angry with the wicked every day, and references the book of Psalms. He goes on to say that God exists as all things at all times, so his love and hate both exist at all times. Does god hate? Does God love Unconditionally? A central moment in the christian faith world on the LGBTQ+ community is that their can no be acceptance on these questions. But where does that leave LGBTQ+ faithful?
