In Palm Beach County, Compass Community Center is heading into award season with a triple honor. The LGBTQ+ center has been nominated for three categories at the 2025 Hats Off Nonprofit Awards, a prestigious recognition that shines a spotlight on organizations making a profound impact. Compass is up for the Nonprofit Innovation Award for its groundbreaking programs, the Community Collaborators Award alongside CAN Community Health, and the Nonprofit Professional Award honoring staff leader Lety Gonzalez.

In a statement, Compass shared: “These nominations celebrate the creativity, partnerships, and leadership that make Compass a vital home for our LGBTQ+ community. Thank you to our team, volunteers, donors, and partners who make this recognition possible!”

For nearly 35 years, Compass Community Center has served Palm Beach County’s queer community. As the oldest continuously operating LGBTQ center in South Florida, Compass offers a wide range of services and resources for queer people and those impacted by HIV and AIDS. The Hats Off Awards are known for honoring a circle of nonprofit leaders, causes, and volunteers for their excellence and performance. Winners will be announced later this fall.
