Drag queen and environmental activist Pattie Gonia has raised an astounding $1.1 million after completing a 100-mile backpacking trek in full drag. More than 34,700 donors helped her surpass her $1 million goal, with each of eight nonprofits receiving $145,986. She wrote, “That is insane…Don’t let anyone ever tell you that you can’t make a difference.” Critics once called her fundraiser crazy, but she added, “You’re likely on the right path…The devil works hard but we work harder.”
