Transphobic MAGA influencer Ian Miles Cheong is facing criticism after falsely claiming that using headphones can turn straight people gay. Cheong misrepresented a Netherlands-based study that examined chemicals found in headphone materials. The study analyzed 81 headphone models sold in Central Europe and identified bisphenols and phthalates that may pose long-term public health risks. Researchers warned of possible links to cancer, reproductive harm, and chronic illness, but made no mention of sexual orientation or “feminizing men.” Despite this, Cheong wrote on Twitter, “Your headphones are making you gay….”
