Transgender singer Ethel Cain is drawing both praise and criticism after posting semi-nude photos on Instagram. Cain, who came out as transgender at 20, shared a carousel shot by photographer Dollie Kyarn. Two images show her in a corset with her lower body exposed. Posted a day after Trans Day of Visibility, the images present a soft, feminine aesthetic rather than overt sexuality. Additional photos feature Cain in the same corset paired with white shorts. Instagram placed a sensitive content warning on the post, but has not removed it. Cain’s Instagram has received strong support, too. Elon Musk’s Twitter, however, has seen a wave of transphobic commentary.
