Two trustees with the Temecula Valley Unified School District are facing backlash after making comments about members of a high school water polo team celebrating at a baseball game. The controversy began after Temecula Valley High School athletes attended a baseball game between swim meets on April 28. The students removed their shirts and lowered their pants to reveal Speedos and “B-E-A-R-S-!” painted across their chests while cheering for the team.

A photo of this was on the baseball team’s social media, which was later removed. Before it disappeared, board president Joseph Komrosky reportedly said the students were “one step closer to Chippendales,” while trustee Jen Wiersma compared them to an “OnlyFans crew.” The parent of one of the members of the water polo team, Sharon Sardina, called the remarks inappropriate and has demanded apologies and resignations.
