On Friday, August 28, the Riverwalk Chocolate & Whiskey Tasting took place at the Fort Lauderdale Woman’s Club which was an evening of exceptional pairings, great conversation, and a fun, educational tasting experience.
On Saturday, August 29, The YMCA of South Florida, in partnership with the University of Miami Department of Community Service hosted a FREE Health Fair at the L.A. Lee YMCA/Mizell Community Center. The services provided included blood pressure measurement, blood sugar/diabetes testing, bone density screenings, colon cancer screenings, cholesterol testing, child health education, dental screenings, skin cancer screenings, mental health screenings, HIV & hepatitis C screenings, vision & glaucoma screenings, pap smears, men’s health screenings, emergency preparedness, physical therapy, kidney health screenings and more.
On Thursday, September 3, The GFLGLCC presented “Chamber Unscripted” with a book signing at the chamber with Von Biggs.
On Saturday, September 5, The Imperial Sun Court of All Florida’s Sheila Noya Cox, and Freeda Feta presented a Turnabout Drag Show at Pub on the Drive hosted by reigning emperor Marshall Snyder-Harris and benefiting Reign VIII Charities. This was a fun event that raise a few thousand dollars.
Afterwards, Arts United Gallery presented the opening reception of “Carnivale of Color,” which was a juried visual art exhibition celebrating Hispanic Heritage with awards given out. The exhibition runs through September 26.
I ended the night as Mistr presented Gary Santis Events’ Black Fort Lauderdale, one of the biggest gay fetish parties at the Manor Live. The night starred Celebrity DJ Nina Flowers along with international festival DJ Thomas Santiago and some sexy performances.
On Sunday, September 6, Flockfest presented “Splash: Red Edition” at The Easton Rooftop pool and Lounge. The party starred DJ Deanne and the boys came out even though it was raining.
