jmarks2J. Mark’s Restaurant opened in 2007 and has been a popular dining destination ever since. You start to understand why once you walk in the door. Friendly staff greet you in an ample entryway that hints at its popularity. Once you’re seated you’ll forget the size of the restaurant and feel like you’re dining in an intimate, out of the way café – it’s all by design. From the layout of the tables to the strategic lighting, the ambience was carefully crafted for an individualized and exceptional dining experience, whether you’re dining casually with a group of friends or having an intimate dinner for two.

Owner Steven Wilson says, “We’re here to deliver a great experience to everyone who comes into our restaurants. Whatever makes them happy makes us happy.” It shows. Table service is excellent; in fact, don’t be surprised if Steve or his partner, Ariel Ayala, pays your table a visit. The attention Steve and Ariel pay to their guests has helped them make dining at J. Mark’s nothing less than superb.

Their attention to detail doesn’t stop with the décor. From the fresh yeast rolls to the aged, hand-carved, certified Angus beef, every effort is made to insure the quality of everything on the menu; even their salads are prepared fresh, made to order and served with salad dressings made in their kitchen. Freshness is the key and pre-packaged foods are not welcome in J. Mark’s kitchen.

jmarks3While you’re waiting for you entrée try the avocado egg rolls (remember, their made fresh!); the prime rib sliders with creamy horseradish and basil pesto on sourdough are also a house favorite. Their salads are substantial for those who prefer lighter fare – just add chicken, shrimp or salmon to their Caesar salad and you’ve got a feast (side salads are also available). Dinner selections are as varied as the appetizers and salads and include steaks, pasta, seafood, chicken, burgers and sandwiches. J. Mark’s boasts their filet mignon is the best and it’s no exaggeration; it’s difficult to find cut so tender it melts in your mouth, but they’ve done it. Their aged prime rib and New York strip steaks are also favorites.

Don’t forget to leave room for dessert! The carrot cake is, quite simply, divine. For connoisseurs of Key Lime pie, the house recipe has been tweaked to perfection and awaits your approval.
