Warner Bros. Records/Jack Records comedian Lisa Lampanelli is known for her off-the-cuff humor and harshly brilliant quips at other’s expense. In celebration of her recent marriage, Lampanelli shows that she is giving love a chance in her new CD and DVD release, Tough Love, available everywhere now. Leave it to the Queen of Mean to take the joys out of romance and “I Love You’s” and twist it into an opportunity of in-your-face insults and hilariously inappropriate stories. Lampanelli once again delivers in Tough Love, which is complete with her signature one-two punch liners and mean-spirited insults. Even her husband isn’t immune from Lampanelli’s wrath, as she affectionately refers to him as “Jimmy Big Balls.” Tough Love wraps-up with Lampanelli’s first ever “The Roast of the Worthless Americans,” an appropriate kick-you-where-it-hurts roast at pop culture’s favorite love-to-hate celebrities which include Kate Gosselin, Paris Hilton, the cast of Jersey Show and many more. Tough Love is available on CD and DVD, with the DVD including over 10 minutes of bonus content (with one of the funniest jokes I have ever heard).
Lisa Lampanelli made her mark on the comedy scene in 2002 when she was the only female comedian to roast Chevy Chase on the NY Friars Club Roast on Comedy Central. From there, she built her reputation as the “Queen of the Roast,” going on to challenge the egos of such names as Pamela Anderson, Jeff Foxworthy, Larry the Cable Guy, William Shatner and Donald Trump, to name a few. In 2005, Lampanelli’s one-hour special, “Take It Like a Man,” was a hit on Comedy Central and the CD and DVD of the show reached number six on the comedy charts. Her second one-hour special, “Dirty Girl”, debuted on Comedy Central and Warner Bros. Records and was nominated for a Grammy Award for 2007 Best Comedy Album of the Year. In 2009, she starred in her first HBO comedy special, “Long Live the Queen” and released her first autobiography, Chocolate, Please: My Adventures in Food, Fat and Freaks. In addition to stand up, Lampanelli is also a regular on the talk show circuit, including “The Tonight Show”, “Jimmy Kimmel” and “Chelsea Lately.” She is also a frequent guest and guest host on Howard Stern’s Sirius satellite radio shows. Her big screen credentials also include roles in the “The Aristocrats” and Steven Brill’s “Drillbit Taylor.” Lisa has also recently been cast in “The Twylight Zones”, a film directed by The Sopranos creator David Chase. She is one of my favorites and after watching “Tough Love” I am sure she will be one of yours as well!
