The Dolphin Democrats, Florida’s oldest and largest GLBT political organization, is holding an awards reception and silent auction called “Equality For All” on Sunday, Oct. 23 at IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame & Museum, 300 Gulf Stream Way in Dania Beach.

Dolphin Dem’s Award Reception & Silent Auction

The Dolphin Democrats, Florida’s oldest and largest GLBT political organization, is holding an awards reception and silent auction called “Equality For All” on Sunday, Oct. 23 at IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame & Museum, 300 Gulf Stream Way in Dania Beach.

The evening will feature A Taste of Broward. It will start with a VIP Reception from 6 to 7:15 p.m. and a Cocktail Reception from 6 to 7:15 p.m. in the main lobby. There will be a Silent Auction from 6 to 7:45 p.m. and a Dining Awards Presentation from 7:15 to 9:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to wear business attire to the event, which costs $75 per person, $150 VIP. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Children’s Diagnostics and Treatment Center (Children with AIDS), House of Hope and Stepping Stones.

A Taste of Broward will give people the opportunity to try great dishes from Rosie’s, Jet Pizza, Christina Wan, D’Angelo Pizza, Casa D’Angelo, Café Seville, Moments in Time Catering, ARC Broward Culinary Institute, Beefcakes, Lola’s on Harrison, Croissan’Time, House of Hope, Sweeter Days and Java Boys. There will also be spirits from New Moon Bar, Sidelines, Boardwalk, The Manor, Diageo Inc., Coastal Wine & Spirits, Rokk Vodka, Brown-Forman and Korbel.

The cash sponsors of this event are Maroone/Auto Nation Inc., AFL-CIO and R3-Accounting.

The items at the Silent Auction include: A Week Stay at a 3 bed/3 bath Chalet in North Carolina; web design and hosting; baskets of cheer, various pieces of art; wine; gift certificates and legal services.

Several people will be honored by the Dolphin Democrats Board of Directors at this event. The honorees include: Jennifer Morales and Laurie Whitaker of Sidelines Sports Bar, winners of the Jamie Bloodworth Award; Broward House, winner of the Community Service Award; Patricia S. Windowmaker Esq., sworn senior legal counsel of the Broward Sheriff’s Office, winner of the Trailblazer Award; WIN Women in Network, winners of the Broward Leadership Award; our own Peter Clark, publisher of Hotspots, winner of the Media Award; Gale M. Butler of Maroone/Autonation Inc., winner of the Humanitarian Award; Congressman Ted Deutch and Oakland Park Vice Mayor Anne Sallee, Political Alliance Award; Michael A. Albetta, winner of Dolphin of the Year; and Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, as Honorary Chairperson, with co-chairpersons Richard Blaise Cimoch and Dean Trantalis Esq.
