Two weekends ago, when I was in New York, I missed 2 events in Miami. The first was Asnel Medina’s (bartender at Discotekka) birthday party and the second was Marco Sanchez and Orlando Orta’s annual Xmas brunch. A week ago Tuesday was the Hotspots annual Holiday Celebration at the Embassy Suites which was a benefit for the Pride Center at Equality Park and Broward House. Over 400 business owners and community leaders were in attendance and once again made this one of the best parties of the year. This year’s highlight was a fantastic performance by the Kinsey Sicks.
On Thursday, the GLBX celebrated their 3rd anniversary with a toy drive at the Royal Palms Resort and Spa. Over 100 people attended and 140 toys were donated. Saturday, Fort Lauderdale’s famous holiday boat parade took place on the intracoastal waterway. Jennifer Morales and Laurie Whitaker of Sidelines Sports Bar invited friends and family to join them at their beautiful home to enjoy the splendor of this annual festival of lights afloat. Great food, friends and as always lots of good cheer was had by all. Also packed for the Boat Parade was Flip Flops Dockside Eatery.
Later that night I went to the Manor to celebrate their 2nd anniversary. The club was packed everywhere, but I will let the picture speak for itself. Congratulations to Brett, Paul, Roby, Gary, Jason and the entire management and staff of the Manor for 2 fabulous years and here’s hoping they have many more to come! On Sunday, I went by Smarty Pants, which was overflowing for their annual Christmas Show with Sally West and guests. Also on Sunday, the Alibi Angels softball team fund raiser was held at Bill’s Filling Station. The team raised $1200 for Kids in Distress, and the Alibi matched it. They also received 5 bags of toys donated from Michaels in Deerfield Beach.
