GaYBOR District Coalition Meeting & Tour of New Ybor Youth Clinic
This month’s meeting hosts were The Metro Wellness & Community Centers in Ybor. It was a very informative meeting. Some of the upcoming events & topics included: the Gasparilla International Film Festival, newly formed national advocacy group Get Equal Florida, Transit In; a Pinellas County transportation initiative, and Latino Gay Pride.
In May, GaYBOR/ Hillsborough Community College Student Rooster Art Project: A selection of art students competing and painting ceramic/concrete “Ybor Roosters” and the chance to win a tuition voucher at HCC Ybor Campus. An open HCC Community Gallery Show Reception, the roosters will be displayed throughout historic district in Ybor City Clubs & Stores. Another great GaYBOR community involvement program!
* GaYBOR’s Annual Easter Bonnet Bar Crawl is set for March 24th. Tickets are $15.00 and can be picked up at MC FILM.
* Miss GaYBOR Pageant is set for May 9th at the Honey Pot

The guest speaker was Jeremiah Kerr. After the meeting Jeremiah took the group on a tour of the Ybor Youth Clinic. The April meeting will be at Bradley’s on 7th, April 12th at 4pm. www.GaYBOR.com
You Just Can Not Make This Up
One nice Friday night two hot body builders came in and sat at the Hamburger Mary’s balcony bar. I started to converse with them and got them dinner menus. One was quite talkative, the other was quiet. I recognized the accents and had to ask… Where are you from? They both worked for British Airways and had just landed from a long flight from London. Mr. Talkative asked me where they should go in GaYBOR. (They knew of GaYBOR!!!) The two were not talking to each other; both were very busy on their cell phones. Snoopy me noticed they were both on Facebook.
Their meals arrived; everything was going good when all of a sudden the quiet one started to cry. Not just a little, but a lot! Mr. Talkative was ignoring everything… After 20+ minutes of crying, I put my hand on his shoulder and asked, “Is there anything I can do?”
Through his tears he said to me “That son of a b&^%h sitting next to me just broke up with me! He did it on Facebook so everybody back home knows he is single.” Can you say awkward situation! 20 more minutes went by and I asked if they were ready for the checks. Did they want it together or separate? Mr. Talkative said one check. He quickly paid then walked out leaving the quiet one there. After one more drink Mr. Talkative came back and they both left together. What a layover they were having in Tampa!!!
