The GLBX (Gay and lesbian Business Exchange as part of the Greater Fort Lauerderdale Chamber of Commerce) presents an afterhours networking event as a benefit for Tools for Schools Broward at the Pride Center at Equality Park from 5:30 pm to 7 pm. They are asking all that attend to please bring any of the following needed supplies: Glue Sticks, Crayons, Index Cards, Pens, Pencils, Pink Erasers, Lined and plain paper, Two Pocket Folders, Dry Erase Markers. If you can’t shop prior to the event they kindly request a minimum $10 donation and they will do the shopping for you.

The Lake Worth Playhouse (713 Lake Ave in Downtown Lake Worth) sizzles this summer with In The Heights, a musical with contemporary dance including salsa, jazz and freestyle hip hop. In The Heights, a musical celebration, tells the universal story of a vibrant community in New York’s Washington Heights neighborhood – a place where the coffee from the corner bodega is light and sweet, the windows are always open and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music. It’s a community on the brink of change, full of hopes, dreams and pressures; where the biggest struggles can be deciding which traditions you take with you, and which ones you leave behind. Small Moments Project and the popular dating app Distinc.tt have partnered to create an online destination for same-sex couples to share their small moments with the world. Video submissions are already underway, with the first contest closing on July 31. The submission and voting rounds reopen quarterly over the next year. The Small Moments winners, chosen by online votes, will win a dream vacation package, sponsored by Stowe Mountain Lodge and the Vermont Department of Tourism, or a weekend getaway from Helix Hotel in Washington, D.C. Online and social media voting commences August 1 and ends August 31.
