National Margarita day 2015 has arrived. This year el jimador tequila has teamed up with impulse south Florida and Hotspots Magazine to take Wilton Manors by storm. Starting Wednesday at 7 pm with Margarita mixology classes at four Local eateries. Featured mixologists will be teaching consumers how to make the perfect margarita. The weekend’s events are:

Friday Feb 20 – tasting at Wilton Liquors at 4 pm; Saturday Feb 21 – tasting and mixology at Wilton discount liquids starting 1pm and at night at Noche Latina Saturdays in the Latin Room and Patio at the Manor and finally on Sunday February 22 is the bar crawl where you can follow Jimmy the luchador and his two lovely “girl” friends Paloma and Margarita down the drive starting at 2pm at the Alibi; 3pm B-bar; 4pm Rumors; and 5pm Rosie’s.

Edmond’s Monk-a-Rita
2 oz el jimador Silver Tequila
2 oz banana liquor,
Top sour4
splash pineapple juice.

John’s – Jalapeño margarita
2 oz el Jimador Silver Tequila
2 oz Fresh Lime Juice
Fresh basil
Fresh jalapeño
Dash of Hot sauce
Pinch of Fresh cilantro

Made with 3 oz. El Jimador tequila, 1 oz of Cointreau, topped off with pineapple juice and house made pineapple syrup.  A spicy rim gives it a hot/sweet balance.

Classic Margarita
2 0z el Jimador Silver Tequila
1/2 oz Triple Sec
1 0z Sour Mix
Fresh Lime and a salt rim

Mango Margarita
2 oz el Jimador Silver Tequila
1 oz Mango Puree
1 oz Sour Mix


 

Rosies

The Tropic Heat Margarita
2 oz el jimador tequila
3/4 oz fresh pineapple puree
3/4 oz agave nectar
1 1/2 oz fresh squeezed lime juice
2-3 thick jalepeno slices

Muddle jalepeno slices with lime juice in el jimador shaker then add ice and other ingredients. Shake vigorously. Pour over ice in a salt-rimmed martini glass.

The Prickly Pear Margarita
2 oz el jimador tequila
3/4 oz prickly pear puree
3/4 oz agave nectar
1 1/2 oz fresh squeezed lime juice

Combine ingredients in el jimador shaker with ice. Shake vigorously. Pour over ice in a salt-rimmed glass.
