Colombia siendo bautizada en nombre del descubridor Cristóbal Colon siempre ha sido un epicentro de cultura y artes de Sur América. Desde sus humildes principios como uno de los 
puertos principales del imperio español, Colombia se ha destacado por albergar unas de las mentes más brillantes del continente. Colombia tiene uno de los mejores españoles de todo el continente, sus niveles de educación superan a la mayoría de países latinos. Además, es cuna de música y arte.
En este bello país puedes encontrar representaciones gastronómicas de todas partes del mundo pero si te sientes con deseos de probar los auténticos platillos colombianos, te recomiendo que vayas a dónde van los locales. Son esos pequeños restaurants manejados por familias enteras, donde la mamá, abuela y nuera cocinan, mientras el papá cobra en la caja y los hijos limpian la mesa- donde realmente disfrutaras de un auténtico sancocho! El SAN cocho es el santo de los hambrientos. Una sopa tan deliciosa y tan llena de múltiples ingredientes que es una comida entera por si sola!
Y si te sientes con deseos de conectarte con tu lado espiritual visita la Catedral de sal de Zipaquira. Una iglesia construida en las ruinas de una mina de sal. No digo que yo lo haya hecho pero si te encuentras allí y ves la oportunidad, dale una lamidita a la pared y comprueba tú mismo que todo está hecho de sal! Y en cuanto al amor?
Los Colombianos son unas de las personas más amables y agradables en el planeta, además amamos a los gringos! Así que si eres rubio, ojiverde o tan solo con que nos hables en inglés y ¡nos derretimos como caramelo! Si te encuentras en Bogotá trata la ‘’zona T’’ y el centro comercial Andino, es un sitio perfecto para conocer nuevos amigos y encontrarte con antiguos. Tomarse un cafecito en Juan Valdez, comerse un creppe en ‘’creppes and waffles’’ y si todo termina bien de pronto y hasta te encuentres en tus rodillas al final de la noche… Rezándole a Dios por el bello día que tuviste- ¡no seas mal pensado!
Eat, pray and love in Colombia!
Colombia, having been named in honor of the discoverer Christopher Columbus, has always been an epicenter of culture and arts in South America. From its humble beginnings as one of the main trading ports, Colombia has always stood out as home to some of the most brilliant minds of South American; their educational standards are higher than most countries in Latin America, and it’s the birth place of multiple genres of music and art.
In this beautiful country you can find gastronomic representations of every country in the world but, if you feel like trying some authentic Colombian dishes, I suggest that you go where the locals go- try some of the small family restaurants, where mom, grandma and daughter in law are cooking, while dad cashes you out at the register and the sons bus the tables. These are the places where you will find an authentic sancocho! SAN (Saint in Spanish) SANcocho it’s the saint 
of the starving people. A soup so delicious and filled with so many different ingredients that it’s a meal by itself!
If you feel like connecting with your spiritual side visit the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquira. This church was built on top of the ruins of a salt mine. I’m not saying that I have done it, but if you are there and you see the opportunity, try licking some of the walls and confirm by yourself that everything is made out of salt!
And what about the love? Colombians are some of the nicest and warmest people on the planet, plus we really love gringos! So if you are blonde, light eyed or even if you just speak in English to us, we will melt like caramel! If you are in Bogota try the ‘’T Zone’’ and the Andino Mall, is a perfect place to meet new friends and meet up with old ones. Have some coffee at ‘’Juan Valdez’’ eat a creppe at ‘’Creppes and Waffles’’ and if everything goes well you might find yourself on your knees at the end of the night…… Praying to God to thank him for the beautiful day you just had! Get your mind out of the gutter!
