Her PsyCHO Tour Plays Miami Beach on October 30

What else can be said about Margaret Cho? In addition to making millions laugh via her stand-up comedy, for nearly her entire career she has tirelessly promoted LGBT equality. The openly bisexual comedienne has earned the adoration of quite a few gay fans throughout her three decades in the industry, and many of them will definitely flock to her newest show, which is part of her worldwide PsyCHO tour. She will be taking the stage at The Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater on Friday, October 30 at 8 p.m.

This will be the first time Margaret Cho has performed in South Florida since last year’s Mother tour stopped at the Palm Beach Improv at CityPlace. This year’s tour is described as a Cho-Physcho-Tour_MargaretChosummation of Cho’s “anger that [she feels] about everything happening in the world right now.” She will be discussing a number of hot-button social topics such as police brutality, racism, and violence against women. “I’m trying to bring some joy to the hysteria and insanity,” Cho wrote on her website when she announced her tour earlier this year. “It’s great when you can take something that’s very tragic and turn it around. That’s what I am doing! Please join me in the madness!”

The PsyCHO tour is her tenth nationwide tour since 1999, and her second worldwide tour in as many years. Her first coast-to-coast tour, I’m the One That I Want, was recognized as the best comedy tour of the year by New York Magazine. Cho originally earned nationwide acclaim for her role in the ABC series All-American Girl (1994-95), which was the first time an East Asian woman starred in her own sitcom. In 2014 she finished up a six-season run as Teri Lee on the Lifetime TV series Drop Dead Diva.
