This week Ru explains to the competitors that Americas Next drag superstars pussy needs to be on fire 24/7, so for the mini challenge the “gurls” are auditioning for the title of “Kitty Girl 2020,” sponsored by Prettylitter.com.  They have 15 mins to get into quick drag. The winner was Jackie Cox who received a $2,500 gift card to Fierce Drag Jewels.

Ru then goes on to say that elections are serious business, and encourages everyone to vote.  However, this week she would like to lift the spirits of America and she feels it’s time for a Drag Queen President, so the “gurls” will be speaking at “Choices 2020.” This will be the most fabulous Presidential debate in “herstory.” They each must present their platform and answer questions from the press. Before the debate, in the workroom, their political advisor was Raven.

The guest judges this week were Rachel Bloom and Jeff Goldblum and the runway look was “Stars and Stripes Forever.”  The top looks were Sherry, Heidi and the winner Jaida. The bottom two were Widow and Jackie with Widow sashaying away.

It was a pleasure to sit down with Widow for this Hotspots interview:

Q: At what age did drag become an interest and how did you pick your name?

I was 17 years old and it started because I was helping my community raise money for gay pride. I picked my first name because I had a big love for Widow Spiders and my last name came from Erika Von Do.

Q: How many times did you apply to be on RuPaul’s Drag Race, and how did it feel when you found out you got chosen?

I tried out twice and when I got the call I thought someone was pranking me. When I found out it was real I realized everything I worked at for the last 13 years was not in vain.

Q: Tell us about your RuPaul’s Drag Race experience?

I had a very lovely time. It was something that definitely pushed my boundaries, and took me from a queen who just dances on stage and speaks on the microphone to a queen who can act, do choreography, and many other skills. I also got to meet some legendary icons.

  1. Is there something you wish you did different?

I wish I would have slayed the last lip synch….LOL, but otherwise I am happy with my performance.

Q: What’s your marital status?

I am still happily married.

Q: Who do you want to win?

I’m rooting for Jaida, because I just love her. She is sickening.

Q: What’s ahead for Widow?

The future holds me releasing my album on October 31. I am also working on tour options and building a show right after this pandemic is over.

  1. Is there anything I didn’t ask you that you want to talk about?

Yes, people need to get out and VOTE, VOTE, VOTE!
