This past Sunday, June 14, Wilton Manors presented “Rally For The Remedy,” a peaceful demonstration that started at Hagen Park, and then marched down Wilton Drive, and back around to Hagen Park. There were many powerful speeches and I for one am glad I was there to see our community support the systematic racism that exists in our country!

The Politician Season 2 Drops on Netflix on Friday, June 19

I cannot wait for Friday, as one of my favorite shows from last season returns. This season Payton Hobart (Ben Platt) fights to unseat Dede Standish (Judith Light) in the New York State Senate race. As a long-time incumbent and greatly admired Senate Majority Leader with no-nonsense Chief of Staff, Hadassah Gold (Bette Midler) at her side, Dede’s re-election was supposed to be easy, but Payton – who sees this as the next step on his path to the Presidency – must decide what kind of politician he ultimately wants to be in order to succeed, even if that means exposing secrets, lies, and a throuple. Meanwhile, his mother, Georgina Hobart (Gwyneth Paltrow), makes a momentous decision that threatens to upstage him and everything he’s hoping to accomplish. But if Payton wants to rise above petty politics and succeed without compromising his character, he must find his voice and strengthen his political message to inspire and excite the voters. Created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Ian Brennan, The Politician offers a comedic and satirical glimpse into just what it takes to be a politician. Ru Paul’s All Star Blair St. Clair Releases “9 Lives”

Speaking of Drag Race, Blair St. Clair just released her newest single, “9 Lives,” along with its accompanying self-directed music video. Alongside the release, she also announces her sophomore full-length album, Identity, via PEG Records alongside Warner Music Group’s independent distribution division, Alternative Distribution Alliance (ADA). Blair first previewed “9 Lives” on the June 5 premiere of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars season 5, on which she is a current contestant. “’9 Lives’ is about getting second chances in life,” Blair shares about the track. “Sometimes, even more than a second chance. It’s a bit darker and mysterious in tone, and full of metaphors.” Taking a more hands-on approach for this album, Blair co-wrote several songs on Identity, and handled creative direction for the “9 Lives” music video. “For me, IDENTITY is all about sharing myself from the inside out versus what you may find on the surface,” Blair says of the new album, which she has been working on for over a year. “I wanted to come up with songs that were about my present, my past, and hint toward where I plan to go in my future. From making past mistakes, holding secrets, getting second chances, and dealing with both positive and negative personal discoveries, IDENTITY is simply me.”
