LGBTQ VOTE CENTER OPENS IN WILTON MANORS

By now, you know just how important this year’s Presidential election is, if not, you must be locked up in a dark room hoping that all of this crap we have been going through will somehow just disappear.  The good news is that it eventually will, the bad news is that it will take some time and a great deal of effort to say the least.  The Trump administration has done more damage to the good work that had come before him than any other president in history from tearing up the Paris Climate Accord, dismantling the Affordable Care Act, justice inequality and of course stacking the courts with conservative judges who may soon be in a position to have to rule on a woman’s right to choose.  Who would have thought just 48 months ago we would fallen so far back in such a short period of time?  We can thank the disrupter in chief for all of these failings, not to mention his abysmal handling of Covid-19 at the peril of more than 220,000 precious American lives.

We the People

Must take a stand and rally against this oppression or get smothered in it.  I, for one, choose to stand up and be counted and I know that millions of Americans feel the same way.  So, what can we do?  VOTE!  Make your voice heard this November by using your right to let the people know exactly how you feel.  We live in one of the most divided states in the nation and it is often said “that the further north you go in Florida, the further south you get.”.  Just look at the results of the electoral college and you will see that it is true.  The only way that this is going to change is if we TURN FLORIDA BLUE in November.

The blue wave starts right here in South Florida with many LGBTQ organizations rallying including the Dolphin Democrats, Equality Florida and the Florida LGBTQ+ Democratic Caucus.

They are here to help and are leading the way by championing the get out the vote initiatives.

Florida LGBTQ+ Democratic Caucus Opens Vote Center

Caucus president, Stephen Gaskill stood proud introducing special guest for the official opening of the center last week including, Mayor Dean Trantalis, Linda Thomson Consolas and Ella Coffee. Gaskill said: “We are here to elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, and all of the down ballot candidates, that is what this center is all about.” The center is open 7 days a week and located at 2365 Wilton Drive in Wilton Manors.  There you can find information about the candidates, pick up everything from yard signs, bumper stickers to flags.  More importantly, the center is designed to encourage people to vote.

Vote as if Your Life Depends on it! (because it does)

The Center is also looking for phone bank volunteers to encourage people to vote thereby ensuring our voices are heard.  There has never been a more divisive time in modern American history and each and every one of us can make a difference.  You decide:  Four more years of Trump or, a brand-new vision for America under Biden and Harris.  Get off the sofa, put on your mask and make a difference! VOTE!
