The Cabanas Guesthouse and Spa Hosts Olympic Diver Matthew Mitcham
The Cabanas Guesthouse is delighted to host Australian Olympic Diver Matthew Mitcham during October for his induction into the International Swimming Hall of Fame. There have been many other gay Olympic winners such as Greg Luganos who came out after competing. Having achieved the highest single-dive score in Olympic history at the 2008 Olympic Games, in Beijing, China, Matthew executed an extremely difficult dive (two-and-one-half somersault with two-and-one-half twists in the pike position) for his final dive. The judges awarded him four 10s, making history and acquiring him the gold medal for this event, while also being the first openly gay male to win an Olympic Gold Medal. For more information on Matthew follow him at Instagram.com/matthewmitcham88.
