WEAM Presents Yoga for Better Sex from 11:30am to 1pm. This movement workshop, taught by sexologist and yoga instructor Sonjia Kenya, combines aspects of yoga and chakra-awakening strategies to provide a sacred, safe place where learners are guided through postures and techniques that encourage connecting with their inner sensual self. Gulfstream Park’s “Taste at the Track” is back, featuring a special “Wine & Dine” edition of this fan-favorite tasting series from 1-4 p.m. This event combines the best of two worlds: food and drink and horse racing. LGBT Floridians facing Alzheimer’s
The Florida chapters of the Alzheimer’s Association and Lambda Living, a program from Jewish Community Services, have partnered to offer a new virtual support group for LGBT Floridians facing Alzheimer’s. Held every 3rd Tuesday of the month from 2 – 3:30 pm, the group will provide a space for both caregivers and those facing Alzheimer’s to connect. Cindy Brown, support group facilitator and Lambda Living program manager, has worked in the South Florida LGBT community for years. To her, this initiative fills a large gap in services. “This group is important for several reasons. Older LGBT folks have access to fewer services than their heterosexual counterparts. In addition, many older LGBT folks are not comfortable sharing personal information in a group that may have members who aren’t as supportive of them,” said Brown.
