Diversity Honors, a globally recognized event benefiting the Harvey Milk Foundation and The Pride Center at Equality Park, is set to honor outstanding individuals this year. Esteemed honorees include the Emmy, Tony, and Grammy Award-winning artist Billy Porter, renowned LGBTQ+ activist Belinda Carlisle, and talented singer/songwriter Spencer Battiest, who will all receive the prestigious Harvey Milk Medal. Additionally, entrepreneur Mark Hunter Seymour will be presented with The Pride Center at Equality Park Alan Schubert Award for his remarkable contributions. Mark Hunter Seymour has had a remarkable entrepreneurial journey spanning over four decades, starting with the establishment of his first nightclub, Hunters Chicago, in 1982. Over the years, Seymour expanded his footprint, opening successful establishments in Palm Springs, California, and Wilton Manors, Florida. His commitment to the LGBTQ+ community is evident through his involvement with various non-profit organizations, including The Desert Aids Project and The LGBT Community Center of the Desert in Palm Springs. In Wilton Manors, Seymour has collaborated with organizations like The Pride Center at Equality Park and the South Florida Gay Men’s Chorus, among others. He has received numerous accolades for his community service, including the “Businessman of the Year” award from The Desert Business Association. The Diversity Honors ceremony, scheduled for Saturday, March 9, will also recognize Tatiana Williams and the Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida for their impactful contributions to diversity and inclusion. This event promises to be a celebration of excellence and a tribute to individuals who have made significant strides in advancing LGBTQ+ rights and visibility.
