Winter Party
The National LGBTQ Task Force’s Winter Party Festival 2024 makes its return to Miami Beach for its 31st anniversary celebration now through March 5. Winter Party is an annual dance and music festival featuring a week-long series of events benefiting both local and national LGBTQ+ organizations. This year’s festival features a diverse mix of music, community programming, and entertainment. The Winter Party Festival brings in over 10,000 attendees annually and hosts 14 events across nine exhilarating world-class Miami and Miami Beach venues. Guests will be treated to upbeat tunes from 17 international DJs including Calagna, Deanne, Sagi Kariv, and more.

In a milestone musical event, South Florida Symphony Orchestra (SFSO), led by Sebrina María Alfonso, will pay passionate homage to Beethoven, one of classical music’s most revered composers, with a 200th anniversary celebration of his monumental choral masterpiece, Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125! One hundred voices from South Florida Symphony Chorus, directed by Dr. Giselle Elgarresta Rios, featuring talented singers from Barry University, Our Lady of Lourdes Academy, the Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida, and the community, will add to the revelry. Soloists Elizabeth Caballero (soprano), Rebecca Ringle Kamarei (mezzo-soprano), Adam Diegel (tenor), and Luis Ledesma (baritone) will also perform a selection of grand opera arias. The performance takes place at 7:30pm at Broward Center for the Performing Arts (BCPA) in Fort Lauderdale. AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), the world’s largest HIV/AIDS service organization, is partnering with entertainer Todrick Hall for the 19th Annual Florida AIDS Walk & Music Festival on Fort Lauderdale Beach (1100 Seabreeze Blvd). This annual spring break event that attracts more than 2,000 attendees and raises $2 million for 13 local nonprofit organizations providing HIV/AIDS services in the South Florida community. NSU Art Museum presents Creativity Exploration: Figure and Form from noon to 1:30pm. Make your own magical figure sculpture inspired by the daily art practice of Frode Bohuis. Alter a figurine using a variety of materials, including clay, fabrics, and beads. Creativity Exploration adult workshops promote the benefits of material exploration and the mind-to-body experience. Studies have shown that 45 minutes of creative activity a day reduces stress and offers mental clarity and relaxation. In addition to producing a sense of well-being, sessions expand participants’ perceptions of forms, while increasing brain connectivity through visual and cognitive stimulation. FLIFF (Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival) is rolling out the red carpet for the 96th Academy Awards with an over-the-top celebration that promises to be a night of fun, fashion, and music, as well as a celebration of cinematic creativity.
