Elon Musk lashed out at trans people on his X platform Thursday, amplifying false claims about trans violence and tying them to attacks on Tesla property. His comments came on the same day his daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson, called him a “pathetic man-child” in a Teen Vogue cover story. Musk shared a debunked chart on “trans violence” in the UK prison system and wrote, “The probability of a trans person being violent appears to be vastly higher than non-trans.”
He also claimed hormone therapy causes “extreme emotional volatility.” His far-right ally, Representative Nancy Mace (R-SC), responded mockingly, prompting Musk to reply, “True, this is unfair projection.” Wilson, who cut ties with Musk in 2022, dismissed the idea that her transition caused his shift to the right. She said, “It’s such a convenient narrative … that’s just not the case.”
Referencing Musk’s straight-arm gesture at Trump’s post-inaugural celebration, she added, “The Nazi salute shit was insane.” Musk, a Trump ally, has at least 14 children with four women. Wilson first spoke out against him last year when he deadnamed her. Protests against Tesla have escalated, as Musk plays a key role in Trump’s administration. Tesla’s stock has dropped 41% since Trump took office.
