Hope and Help Center of Central Florida will host its 23nd annual Headdress Ball Saturday, September 22th at the Hilton Orlando. John Morgan of Morgan and Morgan and his family have stepped up to the plate to Chair this amazing event. Morgan and Morgan have proven that they really are for all people by generously deciding to be the Chair people of this event. “All disease is unfair. AIDS seems particularly so. My family looks forward to an AIDS free world, but in the interim it is important that those infected be treated with compassion, grace and God’s love” said John Morgan of Morgan and Morgan. Headdress Ball is the area’s number one voted gala and is the cornerstone fundraiser benefiting Hope and Help Center. Hope and Help’s mission is save lives by treating and preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS in Central Florida. Headdress Ball has generated more than $3 million since its inception in 1989. Last year’s event raised more than $325,000 which help to deliver life saving services to more than 4,600 clients a year.
Hard Drive Productions and Best Entertainment are award winning producers working to make the best Headdress Ball the area has ever seen. This year’s theme, “Twisted,” will be sure to be a spectacle. The event will run like a version of the “Wizard of Oz” meets “Wicked,” but for adults. The occasion will have the signature headdress competition, drag show, live and silent auctions and much more.
Hope and Help Center has partnered with the Hilton Orlando again this year and are offering rooms for special prices. Together they are offering special rates for rooms starting at $114 per night for Headdress Ball attendees seeking accommodations during the event weekend.
The event is known throughout Central Florida as Orlando’s most outrageous black tie gala with the area’s most influential people in attendance. Adult-only performances dominate the stage with precision and glamour. “People love Headdress Ball because it’s the only charity event that brings together drag queens, G-strings, and black tie!” adds Maggie King, Director of Development for Hope and Help.
