The GLBX (Gay and Lesbian Business Exchange) of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce will present its second annual Business Community Ally (BCA) Awards hosted by Truluck’s Fort Lauderdale (2584 East Sunrise Boulevard) on Wednesday, October 2, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. This event will recognize and showcase individuals and corporate entities that are successfully doing business with the LGBT+ community, defining and implementing diversity and inclusion policies and/or supporting worthy related causes. 

This year’s honorees are The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale (Business Ally Award), Michael Berry of Pier Sixty-Six Hotel & Marina (Business Leader Award), Brenda Hartley of BankUnited (Impact Award), Tim Hart of R3 Accounting (Advocate Award), Michael Goodman of GPR | Goodman Public Relations (Legacy Award) and Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis (Visionary Award).  

“Now, in its second year, The GLBX Council is pleased to honor Broward County’s individuals and corporate community leaders who are paving the way toward a more inclusive LGBT+ community,” said Andy Rogow, GLBX board chair. “Today, more than ever, it’s important for us, as a council of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, to spotlight those who are progressively embracing diversity, challenging standards and contributing toward a more robust business economy for all.” 

Guests will enjoy a networking cocktail reception as they mix and mingle with community movers and shakers at Truluck’s. Culinary delights and entertainment will complement the awards ceremony which will be presented by local business leaders and sponsors.

Tickets for the GLBX BCA Awards at Truluck’s Fort Lauderdale are $55 for members and $65 for non-members (includes two drinks and lite bites) and can be purchased at FTLchamber.com/bca.
