Flockfest gathers at Fort Lauderdale Beach Park to do something fun and make a difference; this is an informal gathering. Flockfest Ft. Lauderdale raises money for several local non-profit organizations. The idea that started in 2015 with a small number of floats has grown to over 500 floats and 1800 attendees. VIP Packages are available and includes complementary cocktails, food, access to FlockFest float – blown up and ready for you, Gift Bag with FlockFest swag and access to their VIP Appreciation Party at Hunter’s Nightclub on Friday, July 8 from 6-8:30pm.
NSU Art Museum presents “Creativity Exploration” from noon to 1:30pm. Creativity Exploration adult workshops promote the benefits of creative exploration and the mind-to-body experience. Studies have shown that 45 minutes of creative activity a day reduces stress and offers mental clarity and relaxation. In addition to producing a sense of well-being, sessions expand participants’ perceptions of forms, while increasing brain connectivity through visual and cognitive stimulation. Look at the works of Roxy Paine, Beatrix Potter, Yayoi Kusama, Amanda Cobbett, and others. Advance reservations are required, as space is limited. The workshop is led by educator Lark Keeler, a specialist in mindfulness education. Admission is $10 for members and $15 for non-members (For ages 18+).

The Manor presents “Menergy” in the Ballroom starring DJ/Producer GSP from Greece hosted by designer Andrew Christian. Noche Latina Saturdays, in the Ivy dance room and patio invites the entire community to come together to celebrate the 50th birthday of South Florida icon, Erika Norell. The night will also star Oscar Novva, resident DJ Duniel and sexy Latin Go-Go Papi’s. Doors open at 11pm.

Flockfest introduces Flamingo Sunday Tea Dance from 12pm-5pm at the Courtyard Marriott Downtown Rooftop (721 North Federal Highway). General Admission is $20, and VIP Admission is $80 and includes entry to Rooftop pool deck area; all beverages; valet; $10 food voucher for the restaurant and a bag check. History Fort Lauderdale presents “Tranquil Tropics: The Art of Tim Forman & Friends” from today through Sunday, September 11. This all-new summer art exhibit featuring Forman’s award-winning work alongside lauded local artists including Dan Caldwell, Linda Apriletti, Hitomi Saito, Diane Delorey, Tammy Seymour, Danielle Perry and Connie Commette will focus on Florida’s tropical beauty and its conservation. The exhibit will open with an artist group meet and greet reception at noon at the New River Inn (231 Southwest Second Avenue). Entry to the exhibit is free with general admission – $15 for adults; $12 for seniors and $7 for students (through age 22 with a valid student ID). Festival of the Arts BOCA, Boca Raton Historical Society (BRHS), and The Schmidt Boca Raton History Museum (SBRHM) announced the second concert in the Summer Sips & Sounds. Scheduled for today at 6 pm, it will feature Music from the Seventies, and will be held in the museum’s lecture hall, located in Historic Town Hall, 71 North Federal Highway in downtown Boca Raton. The evening starts with a cocktail reception at 6 pm sponsored by The Seagate Hotel and the actual performance will run from 6:45 to 7:30 pm. Musicians include Rick Krive (keyboard and vocals), Scot Klarman (saxophone), and Joanna Marie Kaye (vocals).
