Cynthia Nixon, Sex and the City star and LGBT activist, will help us kick off the three-year campaign to end the ban on adoptions by gays and lesbians at a poolside cocktail party. Proceeds will support the ACLU’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender rights work in Florida and across the country. Poolside Cocktail Party is $25 per person and takes place from 8:30 to 10:30 pm and includes an open bar, hors d’oeuvres and guest DJ. VIP reception is $250 per person and takes place from 7:30 to 9:00 pm. This holiday season the South Florida Boys of Leather, through the generous support of the Ft. Lauderdale community, has been able to donate much needed food, toys and money to two very worthwhile organizations: Children’s Diagnostic and Treatment Center and Kids In Distress. The November Thanksgiving Food Drive collected 12 packed boxes of canned goods and $441 towards the purchase of turkeys to help feed families supported by Children’s Diagnostic and Treatment Center. In December over $1,600 worth of toys and gift cards and $1,012 in cash donations were delivered to Kids in Distress, Broward County for their children and families this Christmas season. Your kind donations and support has made this an awesome year for the organization and the many deserving families who have benefited.
