Opening of “The Dive Bar & Grill” and “MC Film on the Beach”

A huge thank you to Gulfport for the warm welcome we received! The soft opening was on the same day as The Gecko Fest! The first customers to get drinks were Lori Rosso (President of the Gulfport Chamber of Commerce), Suzanne King (Gulfport Promotions) and famous entertainer Judy B. Goode. Hundreds of well wishers made their way to Gulfport. For many it was their very first time in the quaint Gulfport village! At one point it was so packed that security were letting 2 in as 2 came out. After looking for over 2 years for a new location in Orlando and Atlanta, the Florida Entertainment Group chose Gulfport. One visit here for the “Gulfport Experience” and we are sure you will fall in love with Gulfport and its beach too!

dishing1It was like a huge family reunion on opening day! Hundreds of old and new friends were at the new MC Film store on the beach. The best part of the community is the people and they were all there! How can we say thank you for the welcome? The sign that was over our store at the SunCoast Resort and that everybody signed on the last day is PROUDLY up again! At the new MC Film you will find many items for the GLBTA shoppers, including 5 new lines of swimwear and designer shirts. We will be open Thursdays through Sundays 2ish to 9ish every day. Stop by and say hi soon!

People are Talking

Everybody is talking about the opening of Dive Bar & Grill and MC Film store in Gulfport. Welcome home, D. Stephen Moss…GaYBOR was not the same without you, although there was still quite the cast of interesting people here! A man in a dress called Wanda, who looks like a clown from a horror movie, made quite the ugly scene again. Pulling off wigs is not a good way to get bullying attention. It’s simply amazing that everybody has a horror story about Wanda! One of the more bizarre Yborian artists was seen walking down 7th Ave. wearing a scarf, hat, dark glasses and umbrella. There was no rain and it was dark outside. Leather men plus togas = incredible Labor Day Party at the Ybor Eagle! The KIKIKI Bar, the oldest gay bar in the bay, has a full liquor license again…that should be fun! The Manilla Bar re-opened as a gay bar for one day then closed and is reopening as a bar again…what a surprise! The Labor Day special at Hamburger Mary’s was pork chops marinated in Goldschlager and we understand it was a smashed hit! Where do Army guys returning from the Middle East war party? It sure looked like G.BAR this past Saturday. The Reservoir Bar is now the “Official Coming Out Bar!” This past weekend, while young studs were showing off their strength on the punch ball machine, one guy enjoyed the attention from the gay guys so much that he left with them. Hmm… I’m just saying!
